In 2003, this song was written specifically about my two American Bulldogs, Cain (the thin one) and Bear (the deaf one) and their special relationship with each other.
This version was recorded live on the radio at KRFC in Ft Collins, CO. I am joined by Phil Jensen on guitar and vocals.

"Bulldogs" lyrics
I gotta deaf bulldog, she's six months old, I got a thin one going on four
The roll around tugging on a rope getting doghair on the floor
And they go sliding down the stairway, even though she doesn't hear the door
They both sit there barking up a storm, but she doesn't even know what for
(and she says)
Hey hey hey I don't hear a word you say
Hey hey hey no I don't hear a sound
Hey hey hey I don't hear a word you say
But I see you, and I feel you and I touch you
Deaf dog lying on the rug chewing on a Nylabone
Thin dog licks his paw and makes himself at home
He gets up, walks around the chair and does a practiced DO-SI-DO
Ears flip, lifts his lip, and reaches down and grabs the bone
Deaf dog just lays there as the thin one starts to play
She knows there's another bone about twelve inches away
And she could probably even reach it with her paw, but she gets up anyway
Walks on over, takes the bone right back, despite what the thin dog say (she says)
Hey hey hey I don't hear a word you say
Hey hey hey no I don't hear a sound
Hey hey hey I don't hear a word you say
But I see you, and I feel you and I touch you
And I talk to my dogs, though only one hears the birds
When I shake my finger in the air, she knows those angry words
And thin dog, he's the best damn dog, just patient as a post
He walks around being shadowed all day by a deaf, white, little ghost (who just says)
Hey hey hey I don't hear a word you say
Hey hey hey no I don't hear a sound
Hey hey hey I don't hear a word you say
But I see you, and I feel you and I touch you
Yeah I see you, and I feel you and I touch you
